North Market Announces First Tenants for New Bridge Park Location

The North Market’s first satellite location will feature pasture-raised eggs, local spirits, Tibetan dumplings, pecan pies and other gourmet goodies.

This morning, the North Market Development Authority, the nonprofit that operates the Arena District market, announced the initial crop of five vendors for North Market Bridge Park, the proposed Dublin offshoot of the venerable 143-year-old culinary destination. The new vendors—many of them rising Central Ohio culinary stars—will add to the lively dining mix at Bridge Park, the $300 million mixed-use development that already features Pins Mechanical Co. and Urban Meyer’s Pint House and is expected to add even more restaurants and bars in 2020, including new locations of Cameron Mitchell’s The Pearl and No Soliciting, the private speakeasy. 

“From the very beginning of the application process, we have been extremely impressed with the quality and caliber of businesses that wanted to be part of North Market's historic expansion,” said North Market executive director Rick Harrison Wolfe in a press release. “Like we have done for 143 years at our Downtown location, we are successfully curating the best-in-class fresh meats, seafood, bakery, and produce categories for the Bridge Park facility that will provide a unique experience for visitors.”

When North Market Bridge Park opens in April 2020, the following vendors will be part of the operation:

  • The Dublin Farmer's Daughter, a grocery and cafe from Copia Farm of Johnstown. The new concept from Copia owners Caitlin Bergman and Dan McLeod will feature eggs, meats and produce from their 40-acre property, where the couple rears chickens, pigs and seasonal fruits, berries, herbs and vegetables.
  • Coastal Local Seafood, a raw bar and café from Ian Holmes, a seafood distributor who works with many of the city’s top restaurateurs. The Bridge Park operation, Holmes’ first retail outlet, will offer the same fresh seafood coveted by Central Ohio chefs, including an on-site menu of lobster rolls, crab cakes, oysters and more.
  • Market Bar, a beverage merchant that will feature local spirits, craft beer, best-in-class wines and craft sodas. The owners are Central Ohio bar veterans Pete Volker and Wayne Lin, with Collin Castore of Seventh Son Brewing serving as a consultant.
  • Momo Ghar, the acclaimed Tibetan food stand known for its momos (dumplings filled with meat and vegetables). Owners Phuntso and Pramod Lama originated their stand at Saraga International Grocery and then opened a second location in the original North Market.
  • Dough Mama, a café and bakery from Perrie Wilkof, a Brooklyn transplant who started her first Dough Mama location in Clintonville in 2015. Wilkof also has operated a stand at The Dublin Market, Bridge Park’s farmers’ market. Her new café will feature pies, breakfast, granola and premade, take-home pie crusts.

Four of out of the five vendors—Copia's Caitlin Bergman and Dan McLeod, Coastal Local Seafood’s Ian Holmes, Momo Ghar’s Phuntso Lama and Dough Mama’s Perrie Wilkof—are past Columbus Monthly Tastemakers. 

North Market officials received more than 100 applications from food vendors for the new Dublin location, which has space for 19 merchants. More vendors will be announced in the coming months.
