PromoWest closing venues through April
As libraries, museums and other institutions across Central Ohio close, it’s perhaps no surprise that PromoWest Productions has announced that venues Express Live, Newport Music Hall, A&R Music Bar and the Basement will remain closed through April, “subject to ongoing reassessment.”
In apress release, PromoWest noted that it hoped to reschedule as many of the events as possible. If a new date for an event is announced, previously purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date. If you’re unable to attend the new date, you may request a refund. If an event is not able to be rescheduled, refunds will be automatically reissued.

Some noteworthy shows previously scheduled at PromoWest venues through April include Dillon Francis and Yung Gravy at Express Live, Band of Horses at Express Live, Cody Johnson and Dillon Carmichael at Express Live,Polica at the Basement,In This Moment and Black Veil Brides at Express Live, Blue October at Express Live, Porches at A&R Bar, The Glitch Mob at Newport Music Hall and quite a few others. Defying all odds, Matt & Kim was not scheduled to play a PromoWest venue between now and the end of April.

Somehow, theSturgill Simpson concertscheduled for Nationwide Arena on Friday, March 20, is not officially canceled yet, though, given the governor’s orders yesterday, it’s likely only a matter of time. Chris Stapleton, who’s scheduled to play the Schottenstein Center on April 23, postponed a string of March dates but so far has not announced anything related to the Columbus show. Elton John has been similarly mum about his Schott show scheduled for April 25.

Due to the recent large gatherings mandate by The State of Ohio, shows at the following venues have been impacted:
Newport Music Hall
A&R Music Bar
The affected venues will remain closed through April, subject to ongoing reassessment.
Venues and shows outside the geographic area and/or end date of this moratorium are not affected and, as of now, are moving forward as scheduled.
Our hope is that we are able to reschedule as many of the affected events as possible, but at this time there is limited information on new dates. If a new date is announced, there is nothing you need to do: your tickets are valid for the new date and you will be notified. If you are unable to attend a rescheduled date, you will be able to request a refund. Once you have submitted that request, the refund will automatically be issued to the credit card used to purchase, within 14-21 business days.
If a show cannot be rescheduled once the moratorium is lifted, a refund will automatically be issued to the credit card you used to purchase, again within 30 business days. Otherwise, refunds are available at your original point of purchase.
We will follow the recommendations of local health authorities as to when each of the affected venues will re-open. Please check back periodically for updated re-opening information.
At PromoWest Productions, the health and safety of our guests, performers, and staff is our number one priority. We are closely monitoring the evolving coronavirus situation globally through updates from local, state, and national officials. PromoWest Productions continues to welcome guests to our venue and events and have implemented preventative measures in line with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local health authorities.
All of our AEG venues around the world have high standard of cleanliness which assists with illness prevention. Examples of our enhanced health and safety protocols are:
Training for all employees on health and safety procedures
Defined procedures for frequent cleaning and disinfection of targeted areas
Easy access to handwashing facilities and hand sanitizers for guests and employees
Frequent cleaning and monitoring of all high-touch areas before, during, and after events
End of event sanitation procedures for the entire venue
Requesting guests and employees to stay home if they are feeling ill
We are working closely with local health authorities and keeping abreast of all applicable health advisories. Additionally, our leaders are continuously communicating with our employees about illness prevention, including using the guidance of the CDC and local health officials (see Resources below).
Resources to Guests and Team Members
Your health and safety are important to us. The CDC recommends everyday preventive actions to help stop the spread of germs, such as staying home when sick, washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, following proper respiratory cough etiquette, avoiding close contact with people who are sick and avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
