Daily Distraction: The Times dubs Dr. Acton 'the leader we wish we all had'

In a new video, the New York Times offers a deep dive into the style that has made Ohio Department of Health director Amy Acton such an effective communicator throughout the developing COVID-19 pandemic (even as it has made her an unfortunate lightning rod for the "open Ohio" protesters who have recently started appearing outside of her home).

The paper analyzed seven weeks of press briefings, walking away impressed by Acton's combination of vulnerability and brutal honesty, while highlighting everything from her "emphatic hand gestures" to her way of getting the public to acknowledge the difficult feelings dredged up by living amid a global pandemic.

Of course, we in Ohio already knew what we had in Acton, but it's nice to see the national media taking notice, as well.
