Daily Distraction: Phoebe Bridgers knows the end

On "I Know the End," Phoebe Bridgers traverses the U.S. "looking for a creation myth," instead encountering an endless landscape of slaughterhouses, outlet malls, slot machines and a populace instilled with a fear of God. The monotony has little effect on the musician's spirits, however. "I'm not gonna go down with my hometown in a tornado," she sings. "I'm gonna chase it." The music gradually follows suit, moving from a languid tempo to a leg-stretching gallop over the course of five hypnotic minutes. Give a listen below.
