Craig Ferguson spills his guts

"For me, comedy should have a certain amount of joy in it. It should be about attacking the powerful — the politicians, the Trumps, the blowhards — going after them. We shouldn't be attacking the vulnerable," Ferguson said. Revealing that he recently celebrated 15 years sober, Ferguson cited his own rock bottom moment, when he decided to commit suicide but ended up getting drunk and forgetting to off himself.

The 12-minute speech was not the first time Ferguson has broken from the traditional late-night TV mold: He previously eulogized his father. Both instances show the guy to be a true class act.

Still, the question must be asked: Does he have a point? Should Britney get a pass in her time of trouble, or, as a public figure who made her own bed, does she deserve our ridicule?
