Your Weekend In Music: June 29-July 1

By the time you read this, it might be too late to see The Evil Queens open for Wolfmother at LC Pavilion tonight (7 p.m. sharp!). Other than that, there's only two shows that have nabbed my attention for the weekend.

Later tonight at Ravari Room, 2657 N. High St., the (shall we go there?) legendary (yes, we shall) New Bomb Turks will play one of those one-off reunion shows they've been doing now and again. The Columbus punk kings will be joined by New York's Mannequin Men and our own Night of Pleasure, who must be stoked given that the Turks are one of their hugest influences. NOP should let former drummer Frank Picarello play a song or two to share in the glory.

Tomorrow is the all-day bash known as Here Comes Your Weekend 2. Every band on the lineup is solid, from Terribly Empty Pockets at 3 p.m. all the way up to The Means at 10:15. For more on the organization behind the show, the Columbus Music Co-op, and a full band schedule, check our coverage (part one, part two). I'm hoping to make it out early to the Surly Girl parking lot, 1126 N. High St. See you then.
