What To Do Tonight: Live music, but not in bars

Sorry for the late-breaking post; blogging slipped my mind as I worked on stories for the (gasp!) print edition. But I would be remiss if I neglected to mention two cool musical happenings tonight.

One is a free in-store performance by everyman rapper deluxe Envelope at Magnolia Thunderpussy, 1155 N. High St., in celebration of his new Shark Bolt, which drops today. I'll have a feature on the man and his album in Thursday's paper, but I'm not sure I really communicated how enjoyable the record is. Go to this and pick one up. 7:30 p.m. start.

Later on, Skylab, 57 E. Gay St., is hosting a very psychedelic evening with the pop stylings of Flotation Walls, and the folk sounds of Moon High, plus visits from Houston's hallucinatory Milky Way Arms and Bloomington's ridiculously named Jon Benet Sasquatch. $5 to get in, 9 p.m. start.
