Nature Notes: Wild, Wild Midwest

Venture Club, my outdoor adventure club, went on an awesome safari tour of The Wilds, the largest conservation facility in North America, on Saturday afternoon. For $25, you can take a guided bus tour along the open-air pastures where animals from Africa and Asia and elsewhere graze leisurely.

For about three hours, we roamed around the expansive facility near Zainesville with the help of our crack guide, Elizabeth Taylor. She told us about the natural history of the land, as well as research being done to animals on hand and in the wild. It was amazing. Here are a few more photos of our trip.
