What To Do Tonight: Screw TV, go see some bands

The new TV shows premiering tonight don't look too promising. Jay Mohr's new comedy Gary Unmarried (8:30 p.m., CBS) and the remake of Knight Rider (8 p.m., NBC) don't exactly have me jumping for joy, nor do returning series Lipstick Jungle (10 p.m., NBC), CSI: NY (10 p.m., CBS) and The New Adventures of Old Christine (8 p.m., CBS). With that in mind, I recommend you witness some live music.

I've been impressed by rising local "bastardized Americana" band The Lost Revival, who'll share a stage with earnest minor-key piano rocker Marchioness (formerly known as Amanda Heironimus) and folk rocker Josh Fitzwater & the Shambles at Skully's, 1151 N. High St. 10 p.m. start and totally free.

Over at The Summit, 2210 Summit St., noise addicts The Intelligence make a visit from Portland to play with Fey Gods and The Unholy 2. 10 p.m. and $5 for that one.

And if you like the overwrought, overbearing sounds of Brand New, you'll be happy to know they're at the Newport, 1722 N. High St. You'll be unhappy to know the show is sold out. To Craigslist with you!
