Jeff Mangum in Columbus!

A friend who hit up the Elephant 6 Holiday Surprise Tour tonight at the Wexner Center reports that Jeff Mangum, the reclusive ex-frontman of Neutral Milk Hotel, appeared and performed a song with former bandmate Julian Koster to close the night.

Mangum appeared during the tour's New York stop, which wasn't a huge surprise because he had made a similar cameo at an Olivia Tremor Control show in NYC three years ago. But a Mangum performance in Columbus is a big deal. It seems he also sang NMH B-side "Engine" last night in Pittsburgh. Anybody care to fill me in on what went down tonight at Wex?

UPDATE: This dude says Mangum played "Engine" with Koster on singing saw just like in Pittsburgh.
