Song of the Day: Lily Allen

As much as I like Katy Perry, she is in many ways America's sorry answer to the genius, inimitable Lily Allen. They're both beautiful, spunky and clearly talented, yet Allen has always had a biting sense of humor and a self-awareness that gives even her cutesier tracks a subtle grace that U.S. radio fans have never rewarded. "The Fear" is one such number: Allen talking about how to become famous and subverting a lavish life of commerce even while she enjoys hers.

Pure pop genius. It's Not Me, It's You comes out Feb. 9.
