Seems to me Coldplay is in the clear. There are only so many notes and chords to go around, and the similarity there isn't that striking. Plus it's pretty doubtful Coldplay — or anyone who doesn't work at Guitar Center — has ever heard that Satriani song before. Also, I like the Coldplay song, but that video is unforgivable.
