It's a new year, and the blog is back! Here's how to have fun tonight in Columbus:

Most folks have probably heard the Ohio State Buckeyes are playing in the Fiesta Bowl tonight against Texas, a team that probably deserves to be in the national championship game and whose quarterback definitely should have won the Heisman. The big dramatic question here is, after three recent thrashings in the national spotlight, can OSU at least keep it competitive tonight? Find out at 8:30 p.m. on Fox.

If you'd rather go to a punk rock show, there's a great one at Cafe Bourbon Street, 2216 Summit St. Sick Thrills, a Columbus punk supergroup of sorts, will appear, as will Vegetative State, the gnarly punk youngsters who are apparently back together. Satisfyingly poppy garage grinders Sinks will be in town from Minneapolis, too. $5 cover, 9:30 door.
