The 2009 Ohio Wildlife Diversity Conference will take place Wednesday, March 4, at the Aladdin Shrine Center near Easton. It's an all-day series of meetings, lectures and info booths for those who love nature and want to see it survive.

Last year, topics include the re-emergence of the black bear, damselflies and the recovery of the Lake Erie water snake. Great stuff from experts and specialists dedicating their lives to preserving small parts of the statewide ecosystem.

This year, topics will include the growth of Ohio ecotourism, local honeybees and various migratory songbirds. Things like this can get a little nerdy, but it's always fun to see all the cool stuff we have wandering through our backyards.
