Columbus Alive

Tonight brings the third installment of Gerard Cox's superb Outposted series, a collection of concerts featuring the cream of Columbus' experimental music crop. With a monthly gig now secured at Columbus Dance Theater, 592 E. Main St., the series welcomes percussion master Tatsuya Nakatani. After a set from the Rhythm Raptors, Nakatani will perform solo then bust out a slew of Columbus collaborations with the likes of Ryan Jewell, L.A. Jenkins, Hasan Razzaq, Preston Porter, Bryan Stewart and Owen Kelley. Should be a really fascinating evening of music. Doors open at 8 p.m., and tickets cost $5-10 on a sliding scale depending on when you show up. More info here and here.

Also of note: Ghengis Green and Town Monster at Skully's, 1151 N. High St. It's free and it starts at 10 p.m. Cool lineup of up-and-coming acts!
