Song of the Day: The Floorwalkers

Often eerie and gothic in the way that made Squirrel Nut Zippers the most interesting of the '90s swing revivalists, The Floorwalkers could make a solid case that they're the best roots band in Columbus. That is, if they stuck to sounds of yore, which they don't.

The band draws heavily from other sources outside the deep woods and moonlit Cajun porches coloring this haunting ballad. Elsewhere, its sound draws from indie rock, jam and blues -- equal parts of Decemberists, Phish and Robert Randolph.
