What To Do Thursday: Meet DJ Self Help, survive Toxic Holocaust

First of all, you may have read my profile on DJ Self Help (pictured) in last week's paper. Or perhaps you noticed my blog post about the Outer Sounds series earlier this week. Those two come together tonight as Self Help spins at an Outer Sounds concert featuring Couch Forts, Our Cat Philip and Cincinnati dance-rockers Eat Sugar. After the bands, Self Help will pump the jams in celebration of his new Ritalin Bounce mix, which will be available for sale starting tonight. This shindig starts at 9 p.m. and costs $5 ($7 for you underage types). And I should mention it's at Oldfield's on High, 2590 N. High St.

Across the street at Ravari Room, 2657 N. High St., destruction will rain down courtesy of a four-band slate featuring Toxic Holocaust, Tweakbird, Township and Vespin. Will there be a heavier show this month? It's reasonable to think not. Doors are also at 9 p.m. for this $7 gig.
