  • Starting Saturday, the Columbus Zoo will release the finalists in the contest to name the baby elephant born there March 27. You can vote on the cutest one. [Info]
  • This weekend, I'll be heading to Zaleski State Forest for three days of backpacking and two nights of camping. Should be a great time. Check back next week for a full review and slideshow.
  • If you're not up for 20 hilly miles, head to Clear Creek Metro Park at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 25, for "In Search of the Scarlet Tanager." The two-mile guided hike will traverse the beautiful Metro Park to find migratory birds.
  • By the way, support the Metro Parks levy on May 5. All your questions answered here.
