What To Do Thursday: Paper Route, Men, Pomegranates

Lots of cool bands in town tonight. Let's run down three of 'em:

Paper Route, whose slick trailer is embedded above, will play The Basement, 391 Neil Ave. I caught their last couple songs when they opened for Passion Pit back in January, and I wasn't exactly knocked out, but damn if that promo video doesn't scream "worth a second look!" CD101 faves Audrye Sessions are co-headlining this tour. Local electro-dream-prog masterminds The Receiver will open. 7 p.m. doors, $12 cover.

Men, a hipster dance crew featuring members of Le Tigre, will headline Circus, 1227 N. High St. Columbus kid DJ phenom Adulture (now apparently just Garrett Shrigley, with no Dustin Knell in sight) will open, as will Titz 'N Milk. 9 p.m. start, not sure how much it costs.

And at The Treehouse, 887 Chambers Rd., Cincinnati's Pomegranates will show why they've attracted rave reviews from the national music press after opening sets from Karate Coyote and Ghost Shirt. Music at 10 p.m. sharp, with $6 cover.
