What To Do Monday: Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band

Staff Writer
Columbus Alive

As mentioned in my preview of tonight's Conor Oberst concert at the Wexner Center, 1871 N. High St., it's best not to discount the Mystic Valley Band, the highly collaborative ensemble Oberst is currently touring and recording with. They're not as good as Bright Eyes, but they're certainly more fun. Tonight's top concert also features the latest Columbus appearance from A.A. Bondy, who you may recall wowed me at Bonnaroo. He's one of the few folk singer-songwriters that can capture my attention, and he'll play between Deep Sea Diver and our headliners this evening. Tickets cost $23 and the show starts at 8 p.m. sharp.

Also on tap for tonight:

Stephanie's Id at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St.

Rosewood Thieves and several poppy indie rockers at Oldfield's on High, 2590 N. High St. (More details here.)

Cro Magnon and hip experimental bands at Cafe Bourbon Street, 2216 Summit St. (More details here.)
