What To Do Monday: Yeasayer, Ponytail, Lovvers

Three fine bands of recent vintage will play Skully's, 1151 N. High St., tonight. Topping the bill is Yeasayer, which now features Sinkane's Ahmed Gallab on percussion. I saw this lineup at Bonnaroo last month, and it's definitely an upgrade from what they were doing as a four-piece. Genesis-style global prog rock requires as much percussion as it can get, you know? Before the affirmative ones take the stage, Ponytail will play first-rate rock 'n' roll with shrill, unlistenable vocals. Beginning the night are TNV BFFs Lovvers, British pop-punk prodigies who rock like the Exploding Hearts and The Only Ones. Cover is $12 at the door, which opens at 8 p.m.
