Gear review: All Terrain's Herbal Armor

One obsession of outdoor adventurers is to bring along one thing that has many uses. It cuts down on weight and pack size and gives a special satisfaction to a user who's trying to be as self-sufficient as possible. All Terrain's Herbal Armor lotion is designed to combat two irksome outdoor ailments: bug bites and sunburn.

It substitutes natural insect-repelling oils for harmful DEET and is rated SPF 15. A small squeeze of the white lotion held up well to Quetico's notorious mosquito clouds and direct sunlight. The only drawback is smelling like a citronella candle for several hours. If you're looking to combine two bottles into one, this is definitely the way to go.
