Ham, egg and cheese croissant from Bouley Bakery

Buttery, beautiful, huge, rich and a great deal at about $4 ... but to get it, you have go to NYC, which I did this past weekend.

The astounding Bouley bakery in Tribeca, which is a true Parisian high-end shop (sorry, no photos of the sweet pastry art inside -- this was taken in my hotel room across the street) has some of the best bargains in town. Bouley's self-named restaurant, just a couple blocks away, also features one of the very best prix-fixe super-haute-cuisine lunches in the country and I highly recommend it.

I ate this before getting on my plane home--good thing, too, as it was delayed and all I was offered was a tiny bag of pretzels. More NYC reports to come. (Spoiler alert--I went to Per Se & Jean Georges!)
