What To Do Tuesday: Stella, Elizabeth, Greg... Wild!

Sorry for the p.m. notice on these, but tonight offers at least two shows worth hyping up even at this late hour.

The first is happening at The Basement, 391 Neil Ave., where New Wave of New Wave survivors Stellastarr* will be on hand with one of my favorite breakout bands of 2009, Wild Light. I embedded the video for "California on My Mind" above, and while I really love Wild Light's mastery of new millennial power pop, I can't vouch for that dude's ridiculous popped collar. This costs $14. The Postmarks open shortly after the 7 p.m. doors.

Up north a ways at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St., BenCo welcomes talented sad-sack Californian songwriter Greg Laswell (like Mark Kozelek cross-bred with some straight-laced radio pop entity) and a significantly peppier opening act, DoneWaiting-approved Elizabeth & the Catapult. Follow the jump for Elizabeth's "Taller Children" video, then get thee to the show after 8 p.m. with your $10 in hand.
