What To Do Thursday: Wheels on Fire plus other options
Tonight brings a handful of concerts by rockers past their prime, but I'll get to those in a second. First, I wanted to hype the rare Columbus appearance by Athens rockers Wheels on Fire scheduled for Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St. For more on these guys, read my review of their latest LP, Get Famous (scroll down). Also appearing: The Bygones and Black Owls. 10 p.m., $5.
Although I think The Wallflowers are underrated, I sympathize with folks who don't really care to pay $20 for their show at the Newport. And I suppose somebody out there is psyched for tonight's Doobie Brothers concert at LC, but they're a little outside my demographic.
