Graffiti adds local flavor to quality burgers
Graffiti Burgers is moving fast, the Five Guys-like concept already having opened at 7561 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin and, as of last week, 1505 W. 5th Ave. near Grandview Heights.
Two veterans on the Ohio restaurant scene are behind the burgeoning chain. Jim Torski is former vice president of operations for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. George Tanchevski helped create the Aladdin's chain in Lakewood in 1993 and is the central Ohio franchisee. He also owns the La Fogata Grill in the Short North and Giorgio Italian Restaurant in Clintonville.
The intent was to take the quality found in the Five Guys, Smashburger and In-N-Out chains, and present it with some local flair. Thus the graffiti. Each of the stores' interiors is decked out with graffiti featuring local landmarks and sports teams, in particular the Buckeyes and nearby high schools.
