What To Do This Weekend: Saintseneca, Fat Joe, Thomas Function and more
This weekend's parade of cool live shows starts a mere three hours from now at Used Kids Records, 1980 N. High St., where Saintseneca will play their rustic indie-folk in celebration of their solid debut 7-inch. (Check the feature!) Couch Forts and Letters to the Moon will be there too. 6 p.m. start time, free show, free pizza. What more could you desire? Other live music highlights this weekend:
Also Saturday, instrumental maestros Brainbow and gruff experimental garage-ists The Lindsay will play a free show at Carabar, 115 Parsons Ave., in celebration of the rock 'n' roll wedding between Church of the Red Museum's Brian Travis and Rosehips' Cassie Lewis. DJ Holy Matrimony! will be spinning between the bands.
Wrap up your weekend Sunday with the nasally Southern garage rock sounds of Thomas Function, who'll play The Summit, 2210 Summit St., in support of their about-to-be-released In the Valley of Sickness. Yussuf Jerusalem, Wizzard Sleeve and Day Creeper will be on tap too. 8 p.m. show, $7 cover.
