Long before he questioned his own sex appeal, Rod the Mod was certain about his prowess in and out of the studio. That swagger, rock's most picturesque shag and a love for the folk of his Scottish/English background resulted in a string of genius records that started with The Rod Stewart Album (1969), ended with Never a Dull Moment (1972) and peaked with Every Picture Tells a Story (1971).

Few tracks in his canon or elsewhere touch the pristine beauty or emotional depth of this song, one of many highlights from his greatest record.
