What To Do Wednesday: The Airborne Toxic Event

Like I said in my preview blurb, The Airborne Toxic Event sounds like one of those hideous Hot Topic bands in league with Panic! at the Disco, All Time Low and this city's own Attack Attack! But a quick perusal of ATE's MySpace page reveals the Los Feliz, Calif. band has more in common with the angular, reverb-y indie rock that so warms my heart, so I can recommend tonight's show at the Newport, 1722 N. High St., with a clear conscience. The Henry Clay People, whose name is far superior to Airborne Toxic Event, will open, as will Red Cortez, whose name is probably worst. 7 p.m. doors, $15 tickets.
