Lots of worthy Thursday shows, all topped by the most fascinating R&B star of our time, R. Kelly, at Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 300 W. Broad St. Tickets range from $45-$65, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully he performs "Real Talk."

Here's a good test of Twilight mania: British acoustic guitar dude Bobby Long, whose ticket to fame was a song on the vampire film's soundtrack, will play two shows tonight at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St., at 7 and 11. Both shows cost $15, though the 18-20 crowd will have to pay $3 surcharge.

I don't care at all about KISS, but I'm guessing some of you out there are psyched for Ace Frehley's show at the Newport, 1722 N. High St. 7 p.m. doors, $20 tickets and 16 Second Stare on opening duty.

Lastly (but not leastly), Pittsburgh's Karl Hendricks Trio, 90s indie rock survivors keeping the slacker flame alive, will play with their good friends Moviola and The Kyle Sowashes tonight at The Treehouse, 887 Chambers Rd. This'un is a 9 p.m., $6 deal.
