What To Do Thursday: A myriad of options

I'm off to Cleveland tonight to see LeBron and his new sidekick Antawn, but for the rest of you, this city's music scene offers a few cool smaller scale events for the night:

I'm super psyched about the prospect of Creatures (a new-ish project from Couch Forts' Owen Kelley) and The Woozies (a sugar-rush shoegaze pop combo who I dig quite a bit — think Pixies + Yo La Tengo) sharing the stage tonight at Cafe Bourbon Street, 2216 Summit St. Also on tap are J.P.S. Brown and These Magnificent Tapeworms.

Party Gras! at Oldfield's on High, 2590 N. High St., features Pavement-loving garage rockers like Day Creeper and The Washington Beach Bums, which sounds like my kind of show.

Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St., has a rootsy rumble featuring solo sets from Two Cow Garage's Micah Schnabel and Tom Vollman plus Athens' Hairy Hearts topped off with a punk/indie blast by Low Men.

Other shows of note (or semi-note, at least): The Verve Pipe at The Basement & Yonder Mountain String Band at The LC.
