Local Love: Terribly Empty Pockets

Terribly Empty Pockets were my first love in Columbus music. In this concert preview from last year, I recounted falling in love with the band when they played a show with my old project down at OU, then obsessing over their recordings throughout the summer of 2005. I like to think that wasn't all that long ago, but when The Treehouse, 887 Chambers Rd., posted the above clip to its Facebook profile recently, I had to admit almost five years have passed.

In the interim, the band's core of Josh Holt and Sarah BB moved to Canada, but they've been back since last summer, and new recordings up at MySpace and this tweet suggest they might release an album some day after all. (And it better have "Baby Faith Madison" on it, damn it!) In the meantime, you can see them at The Treehouse Friday night with Bookmobile and Kyle Sowash. 10 p.m., $5.
