First things first: The Main Street Gospel has signed to Tee Pee Records and will release their debut album "Love Will Have Her Revenge" on June 29th. It's been a long time coming for the 2009 Band to Watch, but they'll finally release that debut LP putting them in the company of current and former Tee Pee bands Karma To Burn, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Preistess, Annhilation Time, Hopewell and hibernating Columbus metalheads Teeth of the Hydra.

Of the local acts I saw perform at SXSW, I was most impressed by Main Street, whose psychedelic blues rock has taken a turn for the incredible since they added second guitarist Vug Arakas (not pictured; sorry Vug) to the mix. The Crazy Horse-inspired sounds emanating from the stage were so gorgeously hazy I could have sworn there was a fog machine up there. You can see it for yourself tonight at Carabar, 115 Parsons Ave., where they'll join Love Culture and Adult Fiction. 10 p.m. start; free show.
