Several Cinco de Mayo options:

Young British lass Laura Marling will headline the Wexner Center, 1871 N. High St., tonight at 8. Tickets are $13, and Smoke Fairies and Pete Roe will open. For more, check my preview.

On the other end of the spectrum, a trio of heavy Columbus bands will rock Carabar, 115 Parsons Ave. EYE, the new Teeth of the Hydra/Pretty Weapons hybrid; pun-loving grindcore outfit MF Gnar, the writers of "Eat Shit and Pie" and "Terror Miss Sue"; and the experimental punk/thrash Face Face. 10 p.m. start, and it's free. I'm planning on surveying the carnage.

Lots of other shows are happening tonight, so there's no shortage of entertainment for those seeking sonic stimulation.
