What To Do Wednesday: Shearing Pinx, ZAS

Columbus Alive

Tonight's top two shows offer various forms of sonic slaughter:

For those who like their rock confrontational, The Summit, 2210 Summit St., brings Vancouver's Shearing Pinx and Nu Sensae, Ridgeville, NY's Twin Stumps, Pittsburgh's Kim Phuc and our very own Unholy Two. It's an abrasion sensation! Show up and decide which of these bands are legitimate noisemakers and which ones must be pulling your leg with this garbage. Details on all bands here. Admission is $5, and doors open at 8 p.m.

Also, as explained here, the always inflammatory Zachery Allan Starkey is releasing a new album, entitled "Communication" at Skully's, 1151 N. High St. (Wish he would have gone with "FUN!") Get the digital version here. This show matches perhaps the two most tone-deaf visionaries in Columbus — Starkey and Wolf Ram Heart's David James — bookended by comedy from Zachariah Baird and a DJ set from Moxy, who is about to skip town in a few weeks. Baird's jokes start at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5.
