What I Ate: 4th of July edition
Pot luck party spread at chez Benton.
My main contributions were bitter orange pork for tacos made a la fake Mayan style and soupy, fragrant beans. My awesome friends brought lotsa terrific stuff ranging from hummus to a pretty jicama salad, to an unusual but inspired cherry and cucumber salad to an Asian noodle salad to a lovely and hearty Italian sausage and pasta dish to more hooch than we probably shoulda consumed in three sittings. Happy Birthday, America!
Overheard during the party: "I really like Flora, but the hot breath is a bit much right now. Does she understand any invasion of personal space commands?"
