What To Do Tuesday: Phosphorescent, Bear Hands

Phosphorescent's van got stolen last week with $40,000 worth of music equipment inside. Somehow, that hasn't kept the spectral folk-rockers from soldiering on, including a stop tonight at The Summit, 2210 Summit St. Perhaps they knew we had a pair of promising locals waiting for them in Old Hundred and Vug Arakas & the Stallions. 9 p.m. start, $10 tickets for this one. Lord knows Matthew Houck and company probably need every dollar they can get right now. UPDATE: Van and gear recovered!

Down at Circus, 1227 N. High St., Bear Hands return for the first time since their Passion Pit opening set back in March. The video below shows what that gig might be like — an enlivened jolt with nods to Les Savy Fav's art school dance punk, Bloc Party's arena indie and even a little trucker ballad swoon. Local post-rock crew Harboring Ghosts get the opening slot. $6 tickets. 8 p.m. start.
