What I Ate: Venky's Spice House

Venky's Spice House in Hilliard might be a little unshy with the frying oil and a tad free with the ghee, but its potent flavors--as well as its non-routine and Indochinese dishes--elevate it to the upper links on the local Indian food chain. Plus the spic-n-span place has some bright and colorful, super charming, banded Indian genre paitings depicting everyday life/cycles of commerce, etc. from way back in the day. Like Venky's food, I found those pictographic mini world views to be rather magnetic. Anyway, here's a look at some of Venky's aromatic, nuanced and often fiery fare:
