What I Ate: Knead, and, Party Like It's 1933!

Knead Urban Diner seems to be cranking on all cylinders lately. Witness last night's dinner:

Sazerac delivering a blast of black licorice from a swirl of absinthe

"Ohio Calamari"-- Ethereally tender Ohio pork beneath a crunch-tastic fried breadcrumb jacket

Flaky fried homemade pierogies and sublime homemade sausage. The dynamic duo was matched up with killer red cabbage with an apple-supplied sweetness countered by the perfect amount of acid plus dabs of sour cream and jalapeno-spiked grainy mustard. With wonderful, hearty meals like this (at a paltry $9!) I (almost) welcome the wintry weather!

A terrific scallop special with expertly seared big bad boys given a great foil of blackened Brussels sprouts plus a buttery Gran Gala (orange hooch) sauce

Tonight, Knead's throwing a post Holiday hop party that's also honoring the repeal of prohibition by serving up classic cocktails and snazzy snacks--should be a great time (note: I hear folks are putting on the retro Ritz with classic style period outfits, too). The party starts around 10-ish!
