What I Ate: Japanese Oriental Restaurant

A fun, convenient and reliable eatery with a lot of good things to offer, Japanese Oriental Restaurant seems like it's been hiding in plain sight from many diners.

I mention this because even though it's as good as most of its competitors and people retain good impressions of it, it's often taken for granted -- maybe because it's been around since like forever. Here's hoping Korean food fans can instead view Japanese Oriental as the pioneering restaurant it actually is.

Negimaki (makis are "rolls"), made with seared beef, is like anti-sushi sushi

Tofu Jhim is rapidly turning into one of my boldly flavored, go-to, healthy-side, take out dishes--great with cheap light beer!
