Walk with the zombies on Saturday

How will you know you’ve found ZombieWalk Columbus on Saturday night? Just look for the other guys dressed up in decomposing flesh and musty clothes.

Zombies meet charity for this two-mile walk of flesh-eaters along High Street in the Short North. You don’t need no fancy invitation to this party: Just show up before the 5 p.m. start time at the southeast entrance of Goodale Park. If you can, bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

Do come in makeup and costume, and do be ready to stumble around in your most undead way. ZombieWalk Columbus suggests a visit to Costume Specialists (3764 E. Broad St.) for everything you'll need to transform from alive to, um, not well preserved. Also, Rendezvous Hair (1644 N. High St., Suite E, 614-516-6393) will do affordable zombie makeovers on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly suggested. An un-fresh face will set you back $10-$35, depending on the complexity of your rot.

ZombieWalk Columbus goes to great pains to explain ground rules for this event. They boil down to being nice, legal, sober, intelligent and fully dressed. Visit the website for further details.
