This news kicks Ash!

I'm admittedly not much of a musical theater patron (sorry, Gleeks), but here's some news I'm downright giddy about. "Evil Dead The Musical" will have a run in Columbus from June 1-19.

That's right. They made a musical out of Sam Raimi's 1987 splatstick horror-comedy classic "Evil Dead 2" — which is pretty much one of my favorite movies ever. Here's the description of the musical:

Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It's all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon-killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons are telling bad jokes... and all to music!

Hell. Yes.

The show will be taking place at Studio Two Riffe Center. Plus, this is one of the few (non-Gallagher) theater events that features a "splatter zone"! And some Alive staffers and I just might be getting our zombie on for a special guest appearance at a show ...

Tickets are on-sale now, but we'll be giving some away to some lucky winners next Monday. Follow us on Facebook for updates on how you can win.
