Stauf's to open location in North Market
In light of her upcoming retirement, mainstay Ann Leonard of A Touch Of Earth will transfer ownership of her North Market space to Grandview stalwarts, Stauf's Coffee Roasters, on July 1. A Touch Of Earth will continue to operate during the transition, but will close briefly at the end of June for equipment installation.
"I have been with North Market since 1978 when my grandparents owned Camp Chase Poultry," Leonard said in a North Market press release. "Now I am a grandparent and what to spend time with my grandchildren, family, friends and pursue other interests."
Leonard has been the sole proprietor of A Touch Of Earth since 1995. A Touch Of Earth is a sustainable coffee bar which uses locally sourced products.
When Leonard approached Stauf's Coffee Roasters president Mark Swanson to take the reins, he jumped at the idea.
"I loved the idea," Swanson said. "We were the first local coffee roaster and the first local roaster to start supplying Ann in 1985. This is such a natural fit, it is like we are coming full circle."
According to Swanson, Stauf's will continue Leonard's sustainable concept, but expand to include on-site roasting.
