The annual rummage sale of the Wellesley Congregational (Village) Church will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m – 1 p.m. at the church, located at 2 Central St. There is a $1 admission fee collected at the door.

During the week prior to the sale, the lower level of the church is transformed into various shopping departments to receive  a huge volume of donated items including clothing for men, women, and children, books, shoes, toys, kitchen ware, jewelry, antiques and fine treasures, linens, sporting equipment, white elephant odds and ends and more.  There is something for everyone’s shopping needs from infants to adults, including a special women’s boutique area.  Also available for purchase is food for a light lunch.

This event, which has occurred at the church for 64 years, is organized by the Village Churchwomen, chaired by Beverly Lenci,  and is staffed by more than 150 church members and friends.  This is the largest annual fund raising event for the Churchwomen with proceeds from the sale going to support a variety of local groups such as Women of Means, The ABC House and Women’s Lunch Place.
